GATE Space

GATE Space, launched in 2022 in Vienna, Austria, is an aerospace startup developing high-performance in-space propulsion systems. The company builds compact chemical thrusters (using green propellants) that enable satellites, space capsules, and landers to maneuver and orient themselves in orbit or during descent. Backed by extensive rocket engine testing, GATE Space’s plug-and-play propulsion units offer rapid maneuvers and precise positioning for spacecraft. With a small team (around 20 employees) and recent seed funding, the company is preparing for its first in-space demonstration on a SpaceX rideshare launch in 2026, aiming to provide scalable and cost-effective mobility solutions for the NewSpace industry.
