Icarus Robotics is building a robotic labor force for space by developing intelligent, dexterous robots to handle cargo logistics and maintenance aboard spacecraft. Founded in 2024 by Ethan Barajas and Jamie Palmer, the New York–based startup recently closed a $6.1M seed round and plans to send fan-propelled, dual-arm robots to the ISS and future commercial space stations to offload tasks like unpacking cargo and performing equipment checks.
