Gateway Galactic

Gateway Galactic, Inc., founded in 2014 in Ames, Iowa, is developing an orbital propellant depot for use in Low Earth Orbit. Nicknamed a “gas station for rockets,” this depot (called Antaios) would allow launch vehicles and spacecraft to refuel in space, greatly reducing the cost of missions beyond LEO and enabling heavier payloads to reach higher destinations. By refueling in orbit, the company aims to extend the capabilities of conventional rockets and substantially lower barriers for deep-space exploration and operations. Gateway Galactic has attracted interest from other space companies and has been working on proof-of-concept designs for its in-space fueling platform.
