SBQuantum

SBQuantum, founded in 2017 in Sherbrooke, Canada, is a quantum technology company developing advanced magnetometer sensors to reveal the invisible. A spin-off from the Université de Sherbrooke’s Institut Quantique, SBQuantum uses nitrogen-vacancy diamond technology to build quantum magnetometers that measure Earth’s magnetic field with unprecedented precision and vector detail. This capability termed magnetic intelligence unlocks new sensing solutions across multiple domains: providing miners with richer subsurface data for mineral exploration, enabling navigation for submarines and autonomous vehicles in GPS-denied environments, and enhancing detection and classification of hidden objects for defense and security. SBQuantum is also adapting its diamond magnetometers for space, working with the European Space Agency to deploy these sensors on Earth observation satellites for improved geomagnetic mapping. By combining highly sensitive quantum sensors with proprietary analytics, SBQuantum delivers insights that were previously inaccessible, making it a leader in the emerging field of quantum sensing.
