Avio

Avio, established in 2003 (with roots dating back to 1912), is an Italian space propulsion company headquartered in Colleferro, Italy. It is the prime contractor for the European Vega rocket family and a key supplier of solid rocket motors for launch vehicles. Avio designs and manufactures propulsion systems, engines, and stages used in the Vega launcher and in ESA's Ariane program. The company operates production facilities in Italy and France (including at the Kourou spaceport in French Guiana) and employs about 1,200 people. Avio continues to advance launch vehicle technology and provide reliable propulsion solutions for commercial and institutional missions.
